{"id":331,"date":"2008-04-18T00:25:00","date_gmt":"2008-04-18T00:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/questy.org\/?p=331"},"modified":"2024-09-26T19:14:01","modified_gmt":"2024-09-26T19:14:01","slug":"people-are-funny","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/questy.org\/index.php\/2008\/04\/18\/people-are-funny\/","title":{"rendered":"People Are Funny&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Man\u2026&nbsp; people are funny.&nbsp; You tell them things many, many times and for some reason, you\u2019re a moron.&nbsp; They come to you for help, you give them an answer and because it\u2019s either not convenient enough or the answer they wish to hear, you become a moron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AND THEY CAME TO YOU!&nbsp; Better yet, They will KEEP coming to you because deep down they know you have the right answer even though they don\u2019t necessarily want to hear it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I learned a long time ago that System Administration is better than 70% politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That brings up a conundrum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a sysadmin, my highest priority is my machines.&nbsp; If they don\u2019t stay up, reliable, and serving, we don\u2019t serve ads, and then we don\u2019t get paid.&nbsp; As a coworker, the users are my customer.&nbsp; They deserve the highest priority.&nbsp; Balancing the needs of the machines (who don\u2019t have feelings, but have very real needs nonetheless) against the needs &amp; desires of the user community can be quite the chore sometimes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Man\u2026&nbsp; people are funny.&nbsp; You tell them things many, many times and for some reason, you\u2019re a moron.&nbsp; They come to you for help, you give them an answer and because it\u2019s either not convenient enough or the answer they wish to hear, you become a moron.
